Today we try to learn more about one of our velued partners: Javier Oliva, owner of GLASSAMERICA, our agent for Mexico.
Javier tells us that his history outside Spain began in 2014 when, tired of monotony and looking for new opportunities, he bought a flight for Brazil.
"I was 32 years old, with energy, motivation and dreams to fulfill when, in February 2014, coinciding with the World Football Cup, I left.
I had studied Brazil's growth and already knew and loved it.
But I also had to deal with my desire to experience the world, which did not allow me to stay still for long: I had to explore every corner of Latin America."
Javier's history is a mixture of adventure, intiative, and commitment, and in fact it continues as follows:
" I spent seven years travelling around the continent, always working in the glass industry, and thanks to my knowledge of mechanics and electronics, my will and my energy, I had the opportunity to gain the trust of many of the biggest glass processors."
But in 2020, something changes...
"Yes, as in most parts of the world the Pandemic has arrived to block dreams and projects. I returned to Spain to be with my family in such a delicate moment."
But you didn't stop either this time.
" In fact no, in the strange tranquility and free time of that period I started planning an ambitious project, which would have taken me to Mexico, an incredible country."
And here we are at the birth of GLASSAMERICA.
"Exactly. At that time I had a huge knowledge of the market and I wanted to bring everywhere the best technology I had known all these years. At the Dusseldorf trade fair in 2022, I met the SCHIATTI company. At the booth Cinzia welcomed me, introducing her family and showing me the technology used on their machines.
The warmth of the people in Schiatti and the effectiveness of their technology convinced me right away: I had no doubts that we were going to create a great partnership."
And you were right: today GLASSAMERICA and SCHIATTI work together in the Mexican market with a partnership based on shared values: commitment, honesty, technology, reliability.
